5 Tips for Spring Cleaning {Yourself}

Do you Spring clean your house?

Initially I was going to write this post about just that. How to refresh your house {and I still plan to!} but when I thought about the 5 tips for spring cleaning I realized how easily we could apply them to ourselves.

We make New Year’s resolutions and we are 4 months into those...how is that going? Yep, same. Maybe what we need is some spring cleaning to get back on track!

Well looky here... 5 tips for spring cleaning {yourself}

Behind the scenes of filming reels. In need of spring cleaning! {Just before the hair coloring}

Declutter and Organize - Is your mind always going in 763 directions? Gosh I hope I’m not the only one!

Take some time to “declutter” your mind. Let go of the things you have no control over {this is more of a do as I say not as I do thing} GOALS!

Organize the things you do have control of. You can do that mentally, God bless you if you have this talent. You can also get a notebook {Popshelf has some cute ones...just saying} and make a list or make several list.

Do what works for you to organize your thoughts and keeps them in order.

Deep Clean and Refresh - You know that-- the house is clean, laundry is done, floors are clean, everything is picked up, clean sheets on the bed and a new Southern Living is in your possession feeling? Imagine doing that to yourself!

Clear out the negative thoughts in your mind and refresh your thought process. For instance, instead of focusing on the fact that Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs are gone focus on snoball season approaching...it’s your mindset!

Bring in fresh air and light - In South Louisiana we have about 3 days where the weather is just perfect to open the windows and enjoy fresh air without the need for the AC. If you aren’t 53 and menopausal there may be 6 days.

ANYWAY, clear your mind, let go of thoughts that bring you down. Clear the cobwebs and have a fresh perspective!

Add Greenery and flowers – so you may be thinking how does this spring cleaning tip relate to me?

Brighten up your wardrobe with something fun and colorful. Now don’t get me wrong, some black pants are ALWAYS going to be my Boo but go look on Amazon and make a small investment in a colorful floral blouse {or some fun shoes}. You will have something to look forward to in the mail {besides bills} and a floral blouse just makes you smile. Two for one on this tip!

Or wrap some greenery around your neck and call it a necklace...you do you!

Update Decorative Accents - again, how does this apply to me? Freshen up those roots...color that gray hair. I did this over the weekend. Fresh hair is a real pick me up and so is covering the gray!

New {cheap} shoes are a great decorative accent.

Put on a new pair of earrings, change your lipstick. Heck, just change your hair part. Little things can make a big difference and give you a Spring time refresh.

The bottom line is we all need a little pick me up now and then.

A change of mindset can do a world of good. Do yourself a favor and do a little spring cleaning!
